  • Author: Ethan
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 10 pumpkin strawberries 1x

Description

These adorable Trick OR Treat Pumpkin Strawberries are a fun and festive Halloween treat. Juicy strawberries dipped in vibrant orange candy melts and decorated with spooky black candy features are perfect for parties or a sweet seasonal snack.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pumpkin Strawberries

  • 12 oz orange candy melts (Sweet Tooth Fairy brand recommended)
  • 1/3 cup black candy melts (Sweet Tooth Fairy brand recommended)
  • 10 fresh strawberries

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberries: Wash the strawberries thoroughly under cold water. Pat them completely dry with a paper towel to ensure the candy coating adheres properly.
  2. Melt Orange Candy Melts: Following the package instructions carefully, melt the orange candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler until smooth and completely liquid.
  3. Dip Strawberries: Holding each strawberry by the stem, dip it into the melted orange candy until fully coated. Place the dipped strawberries on parchment paper to set and dry completely.
  4. Melt Black Candy Melts: After the orange coating has hardened, melt the black candy melts according to their package instructions until smooth.
  5. Decorate Facial Features: Using a toothpick dipped in the black candy melts, draw X-shaped eyes and jagged lines to mimic a pumpkin mouth on each strawberry.
  6. Final Drying and Storage: Allow the decorated strawberries to dry fully at room temperature. Once dried, store them in the refrigerator until ready to serve to keep them fresh.

Notes

  • Make sure the strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent the candy from seizing.
  • Use parchment paper for easy removal of coated strawberries once dry.
  • If candy melts become too thick after melting, stir in a small amount of vegetable oil to restore smooth consistency.
  • Work quickly when decorating with black candy melts as they set fast.
  • Store finished strawberries in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days for the best freshness.
