Spooky Halloween Brookies Recipe

  • Author: Ethan
  • Total Time: 3 hours 55 minutes
  • Yield: 12 to 16 servings 1x

Description

Spooky Halloween Brookies combine rich, fudgy brownies with soft sugar cookie dough and festive Halloween M&M’s for a fun, layered treat perfect for Halloween parties and celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Layer

  • 1 box store-bought brownie mix (with required ingredients listed on the box)

Cookie Layer

  • 1 package Pillsbury ghost-shaped sugar cookie dough

Topping

  • 1 package Halloween M&M’s

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the longer sides for easy removal. Lightly grease the exposed sides of the pan to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Brownie Layer: Follow the directions on the brownie mix box to prepare the batter. Pour it evenly into the prepared pan to form the brownie base.
  3. Add Cookie Layer: Break apart or crumble the ghost-shaped sugar cookie dough evenly over the brownie batter, ensuring it covers the surface uniformly.
  4. Add Halloween Candies: Sprinkle the Halloween M&M’s evenly over the cookie dough layer for festive color and added sweetness.
  5. Bake: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 35 to 45 minutes. The edges of the cookie layer should be set and golden brown. A toothpick inserted into the brownie layer should come out with moist crumbs but not wet batter.
  6. Cool and Serve: Remove the brookies from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan on a wire rack for at least 2 to 3 hours. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the slab from the pan, then cut into squares. Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

  • Using parchment paper with an overhang makes it easy to lift the brookies out of the pan without breaking.
  • Be careful not to overbake to keep the brownies moist and the cookie layer soft.
  • Store brookies at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days for best freshness.
  • For extra festive fun, substitute Halloween M&M’s with other Halloween-themed candies or sprinkles.
