Pumpkin Patch Strawberries Recipe

  • Author: Ethan
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 20-24 decorated strawberries 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

These Pumpkin Patch Strawberries are a delightful and festive treat perfect for fall celebrations. Fresh strawberries are dipped in vibrant orange candy melts, decorated to look like tiny pumpkins with chocolate ridges, and served on a bed of crushed chocolate sandwich cookies alongside chocolate peanut butter cups for a fun and visually appealing dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Strawberries

  • 1 lb fresh strawberries

Chocolate Coating

  • 12 oz orange candy melts (or white chocolate with orange food coloring)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil (optional, to thin chocolate)

Decoration & Serving

  • 12 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed (optional)
  • 6 chocolate peanut butter cups (optional)
  • 23 tbsp melted orange chocolate (for drizzling and piping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberries: Wash the strawberries thoroughly and dry them completely by letting them sit on a clean towel to ensure the chocolate adheres properly.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Place the orange candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is smooth and creamy. Add the optional coconut oil if needed to thin the chocolate for easier dipping.
  3. Dip Strawberries: Holding each strawberry by the stem, dip it into the melted chocolate, swirling to ensure full coverage. Place the dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet to set.
  4. Set & Decorate: Let the coated strawberries set for 5 to 10 minutes until the chocolate firms up. Fill a piping bag with reserved melted chocolate and pipe vertical lines on each strawberry to mimic pumpkin ridges.
  5. Assemble Serving Tray: Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs and spread them evenly on a serving tray. Arrange the decorated strawberries on top, and add chocolate peanut butter cups around the display to enhance the pumpkin patch look.

Notes

  • Make sure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent the chocolate from seizing.
  • Coconut oil helps thin the chocolate and provides a glossy finish but is optional.
  • Use orange candy melts for vibrant color, or white chocolate with food coloring as an alternative.
  • The crushed cookies simulate soil for a pumpkin patch effect.
  • Chocolate peanut butter cups add extra flavor and visual interest but can be omitted if desired.
