Pigs in a Blanket:
- 12 oz jumbo beef franks ((1 pkg of 4 franks))
Puff Pastry:
- 8 oz puff pastry ((1 sheet))
Cheddar Cheese:
- 6 slices cheddar cheese
Egg Wash:
- 1 egg (beaten with a Tbsp of water)
Seed Topping:
- 2 Tbsp seeds (such as sesame, poppy, and caraway seeds)
Sea Salt Flakes:
- 1 tsp sea salt flakes (Maldon smoked sea salt flakes)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Prepare the pastry: Roll out the puff pastry on a floured board to 10 x 12 inches and cut into 1-inch strips.
- Wrap the franks: Wrap each frank in cheddar cheese slices, then wrap with pastry strips.
- Top and chill: Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with seeds and salt. Chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
- Bake: Bake the wrapped franks until puffed and golden, about 20 minutes.
- Serve: Slice each frank into 5 pieces and serve with mustard if desired.
