Perfect for kids’ parties or playful appetizers, these sliders combine classic Italian flavors with a creative twist that kids will love.
Ingredients
Scale
Meatball Mixture
- 12 Italian meatballs (precooked)
- 1 jar spaghetti sauce (about 24 oz)
Slider Assembly
- 12 slider buns
- 6 slices mozzarella cheese
- 24 sliced black olives
Instructions
- Heat Meatballs in Sauce: Add the precooked Italian meatballs and the jar of spaghetti sauce into a deep saucepan. Heat on medium for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meatballs are thoroughly warmed and the sauce is hot.
- Prepare Cheese Teeth: While the meatballs are warming, cut the mozzarella cheese slices into triangular shapes resembling big monster teeth. These will be used as the fun topping for each slider.
- Assemble Sliders: Place one slider bun on a plate, top with a warmed meatball and some sauce. Add the mozzarella cheese triangles on top to represent the monster’s teeth.
- Add Olive Eyes: Use toothpicks to carefully skewer the sliced black olives and stick them into the slider bun above the meatball to create the monster’s eyes. Exercise caution with toothpicks around children. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use precooked meatballs for quick preparation.
- Cut cheese triangles just before serving to keep them fresh.
- Supervise children when eating sliders with toothpicks.
- Slider buns can be lightly toasted for added texture if desired.
