  • Author: Ethan
  • Total Time: 30-35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Description

These Italian Grinder Sliders combine classic Italian deli meats and provolone cheese on soft Hawaiian rolls, topped with a flavorful garlic-parmesan butter and baked to golden perfection. Served with a zesty Italian-inspired grinder salad featuring shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and pepperoncini peppers dressed in a tangy vinaigrette, these sliders are perfect for parties, game days, or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 8 ounces ham, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
  • 3 ounces thinly sliced pepperoni
  • 3 ounces thinly sliced salami
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Grinder Salad

  • 8 ounces shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomato
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoncini peppers
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350˚F (175˚C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare Rolls: Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally and arrange the bottom halves in a baking dish to create your slider base.
  3. Assemble Sliders: Layer the sliced provolone cheese evenly over the bottom rolls, followed by the ham, pepperoni, and salami. Place the top halves of the rolls back on and cut between each individual slider to separate.
  4. Prepare Topping and Bake: Mix together butter, grated parmesan, garlic powder, and salt in a small bowl. Spread this mixture evenly over the tops of the sliders. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops are beautifully golden brown.
  5. Make Grinder Salad: While the sliders bake, whisk together mayonnaise, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to create a zesty dressing. Toss shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and sliced pepperoncini peppers with the dressing to make the salad.
  6. Finish and Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven, carefully remove the tops, add a generous layer of the grinder salad inside each slider, then replace the tops. Serve the sliders immediately while warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Hawaiian rolls provide a sweet contrast to the salty and tangy Italian meats and cheese.
  • You can customize the meat selection by including other Italian cold cuts like mortadella or capicola.
  • Make sure not to overcrowd the baking dish to ensure even baking and melting.
  • For a spicier kick, add some crushed red pepper flakes to the grinder salad dressing.
  • These sliders are best served warm immediately after assembly to enjoy the melted cheese and fresh salad texture combined.
