Ingredients
Scale
Steak and Seasoning
- 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Potatoes
- 1 pound baby potatoes, halved
- 1 teaspoon salt (for boiling water)
Garlic Butter Sauce
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Potatoes: Wash and halve the baby potatoes. Place them in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until they are fork-tender. Drain and set aside.
- Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat until hot.
- Cook Steak Bites: Add the cubed sirloin steak to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
- Make Garlic Butter Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, taking care not to burn the garlic.
- Cook Potatoes in Garlic Butter: Add the boiled potatoes to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter until well coated. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the potatoes develop a slightly crispy exterior.
- Combine Steak and Potatoes: Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss everything together for another minute to warm through and combine flavors.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot on plates.
Notes
- You can substitute sirloin with ribeye or flank steak according to preference.
- For extra crispiness, pan-sear potatoes longer or broil briefly after cooking.
- Adjust garlic quantity to your taste; more garlic will intensify the flavor.
- This dish pairs well with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables for a balanced meal.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in a skillet.
