Description

This Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Potatoes recipe is a delicious and hearty meal featuring tender sirloin steak cubes sautéed in garlicky butter alongside crispy, golden baby potatoes. Quick and easy to prepare, it’s perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak and Seasoning

  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Potatoes

  • 1 pound baby potatoes, halved
  • 1 teaspoon salt (for boiling water)

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Wash and halve the baby potatoes. Place them in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until they are fork-tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat until hot.
  3. Cook Steak Bites: Add the cubed sirloin steak to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Make Garlic Butter Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, taking care not to burn the garlic.
  5. Cook Potatoes in Garlic Butter: Add the boiled potatoes to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter until well coated. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the potatoes develop a slightly crispy exterior.
  6. Combine Steak and Potatoes: Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss everything together for another minute to warm through and combine flavors.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot on plates.

Notes

  • You can substitute sirloin with ribeye or flank steak according to preference.
  • For extra crispiness, pan-sear potatoes longer or broil briefly after cooking.
  • Adjust garlic quantity to your taste; more garlic will intensify the flavor.
  • This dish pairs well with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables for a balanced meal.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in a skillet.
