Cake:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (sifted)
- 5 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- ⅓ cup whole milk
- ⅓ cup neutral oil (canola or vegetable)
Milk Mixture:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
Caramel:
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (cubed)
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp salt
Decoration:
- ⅓ cup white chocolate (melted with 1 tsp neutral oil)
Instructions
- Make the Cake Preheat oven. Beat eggs until foamy. Add sugar gradually until fluffy. Add vanilla, milk, oil. Fold in dry ingredients. Bake.
- Soak the Cake Whisk cream and milk. Poke holes in cooled cake, pour milk mixture, refrigerate.
- Make the Caramel Melt sugar in pan, add cream and water. Stir in butter. Cool.
- Decorate the Cake Drizzle caramel over cake. Pipe melted white chocolate, create feathered effect.
- Chill and Serve Refrigerate cake, slice, and enjoy chilled.
Notes
- For best results, refrigerate the cake overnight to allow flavors to meld.
- Experiment with different drizzle patterns using the white chocolate for a unique presentation.
