- 1 Tbs butter
- 1 medium white or yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup chili sauce
- 1/2 cup light beer
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbs honey
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 6 burger buns
- Shredded cheddar cheese *optional
Instructions
- Melt Butter: In a large nonstick skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
- Sauté Onion and Garlic: Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened and fragrant (about 2-3 minutes).
- Cook Ground Chicken: Add the ground chicken to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Add Seasonings and Sauces: Add salt, pepper, chili sauce, beer, Worcestershire sauce, and honey to the skillet.
- Simmer: Stir well and let the mixture simmer uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Thicken Sauce: After 15 minutes, the sauce should thicken. If not serving immediately, cover and keep warm.
