Ingredients
Scale
Pasta and Vegetables
- 16 ounces pasta
- 16 ounces broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
Sauce and Seasonings
- 30 ounces Alfredo sauce (2 jars)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Protein and Cheese
- 3 cups diced chicken (rotisserie chicken recommended)
- 6 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 ounces grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350˚F (175˚C) to prepare for baking the casserole.
- Prepare Broccoli: Chop the broccoli florets into bite-sized pieces to ensure even cooking and easy eating.
- Cook Pasta and Broccoli: Boil the pasta in a large pot according to package directions. Two minutes before the pasta is done, add the broccoli to the boiling water to cook together. Drain the pasta and broccoli thoroughly.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta and broccoli with the Alfredo sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir in the diced chicken evenly to distribute throughout the mixture.
- Assemble Casserole: Transfer the pasta mixture into a casserole dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese on top to cover the surface.
- Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the cheese is thoroughly melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
- Using rotisserie chicken saves time and adds flavor, but cooked chicken breast or thighs work well too.
- Fresh broccoli is preferred, but frozen broccoli can be used; just ensure it’s thawed and drained before mixing.
- To make this dish lighter, use a low-fat Alfredo sauce or substitute half the cheese with lower-fat options.
- Feel free to add extra herbs like fresh parsley or basil before serving for added freshness.
- This recipe can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
